Additional Information:
Apostle of Solitude, whose sound has been described as "hopelessness, despair, and grief,
exorcised from the mind and channeled out in a catharsis of sound", rose from the ashes
of The Keep in August of 2004. Guitarist-Vocalist Chuck Brown (while at that time also
playing behind the drum kit in the mighty The Gates of Slumber) convened with Drummer
Corey Webb and Bassist Brent McClellan, and the trio began rehearsing together regularly
before adding second guitarist Paul Miller in January of 2005. Early recordings from this
period consisted of four track rehearsal tapes, which were circulated through the metal
underground as a foreshadowing of doomed things to come. Upon the departure of Paul
Miller in July 2005, the second guitar position was shortly thereafter filled by Justin Avery.
The name "Apostle of Solitude", being based on the idea of an individual who goes through
life essentially alone in terms of a steadfast devotion to those things they hold to be true
and right - completely independent of society, gives some indication of the subject matter
that the music deals with.
Autumn of 2005 saw the first proper demo cd recorded at Prana Studios. This self-titled
audio documentary of sorrow and ruin was limited to 100 DIY copies, assembled under
the mark of Necrology Rekordings. The band started gigging regularly in Indianapolis and
the surrounding areas during the winter of 2005, and by March of 2006 they began to hit
the road. October 2006 saw an abbreviated east coast U.S. tour with kindred brethren
Elusive Travel. Late 2006 / early 2007 also saw the release of the band's second demo
release, the EP "Embraced By The Black", recorded by "Metal" Mike downtown at the
Engine Room in Indianapolis. This demo, limited to roughly 300 copies, quickly went out
of print, garnering enthusiastic accolades throughout the international doom and metal
community along the way.
Sincerest Misery, the band's much anticipated debut full length opus, was recorded at
Russian Recording Studios in Nashville, Indiana during June 2008, and later mastered
at The Boiler Room in Chicago, Illinois in July 2008.
As special gift to the fans the vinyl edition
will include the complete "Embraced By The
Black" demo, available on vinyl for the
